Hard Drive Partitioning
I have a dumb question.
Anyways, what exactly is Hard Drive Partitioning. Does it mean, you split it in half? And tell me (please) if this is possible. If I were to get a new 160 GB HD for my birthday could I split it in half so one half ran Mandrake Linux and the other ran Windows XP. And if I did, how would I know wich I would boot? Thanks

yes . partitioning is kind of Spliting the hard drive ... you basicly take lets say 80 GB and give it another file system... you can put on one partiton Mandrake and on the other Windows XP .. i did that once.... how would you choose ? on computer boot-up u get two options "Windows Xp Pro . Or Mandrake Linux... with the up and down arrows you choose which one you want and press "enter" ...hope this help a little bit...
