  • There has been a lot of talk about "regulating the internet". Making sure that it's clean of information which may be harmful to our children, is the common argument. On the other side of the aisle, people feel that doing so would hinder our rights to free speech. The key to solving this dilemma is with SELF REGULATION. Parents should have the ability to decide which information is, and what information is not, appropriate for their children to access. The industry has responded to this need by creating "filtering software". This software blocks out sites and content which any given parent can deem as being "inappropriate" for their children.
One of the most popular, and in our opinion the most effective, of such filtering software is called "SurfWatch". This software is available in a client version, which is designed for home use, and a server version, which is designed for schools and corporations. The software will block out content that contains certain key words, and will also block out a "black balled" list that SurfWatch constantly maintains and updates. Visit the SurfWatch for more information on this product.
