  • The best way to prevent yourself from becoming infected with a virus, is to buy a commercially available "AntiVirus" software package. Once you have one of these packages installed, it will periodically scan and clean your drives, as well as keep an eye on files that you download, to see if any of them may contain viruses. It's important to keep the software "updated" with the latest "definition files", so that the software is effective against even the latest viruses known to hit the net. Our favorite AntiVirus software is "Norton AntiVirus" by Symantec. On top of the standard client end software, Norton also makes a Gateway-level AntiVirus software suite.
