GET and POST commands

Hello

I read about the GET and POST commands, but am Having some trouble with them.
I know how to use them but in just their simplest form, EX:

GET www.any.com / http 1.0/

But I need a more in depth look at using these commands, and possibilites that can be done using these commands. Either a reply w/ an explanation, or if anyone knows a few good links about these commands, that will help.

Try the RFC 2616 (HTTP 1.1 Standard)

MsMittens is a woman. But anyway, I hate RFC's. What I would do if I were you is install a packet sniffer such as ethereal and sniff as you are surfing the web. Then you can see the stuff your browser is sending with its GET and POST requests. Peace.

I'm sure it will although I have no idea what it is. If it's a packet sniffer I think it will get the job done. Good luck.

I've heard good things about network activ from different websites, it's a file sniffer and packet sniffer.

This is wrong btw. it should be (after a telnet or netcat to www.any.com port 80):
