I noticed on another thread that you can log in by using ctrl-alt-del,new to me
please advise

That's in WinXP (and win2003 i guess, not sure). If you have hidden users such as the Administrator and you want to login to those in Windows XP, once you come to the login screen, you press ctrl+alt+del twice and you can type in the username and password.
