What you need is a network boot via PXE.
Google: or http://www.kegel.com/linux/pxe.html
or http://www.linux-sxs.org/internet_serving/pxeboot.html
actually i wanna install linux on my pc for which i need to boot my pc with the linux dvd. my pc is currently running win xp. i wanna boot it with the dvd drive on the network. cn u help me with it
Why not unplug the dvd drive from the other computer, plug it into the needed computer install the distro then once that is done then return the dvd player/burner to the original computer..
Just set the DVD Drive on the other PC as a network share and refer to my first post.
Or easier solution is that of t34b4g5
Another possibility might be to create an installation CD or CDs?
:)
or as said in another thread, buy a dvd drive they aren't expensive.
