Is your phone hooked up using USB or is it just next to the wires?
I had a problem with onboard usb interfering with my onboard nic..
Plugged in a PCI NIC far away from the usb...all fixed.
Maybe you need a PCI usb..seperate card for your Blackberry or other devices...I am assuming here the Blackberry is using USB.
Never really looked further into how to fix the issue...just came up with a work around.

Thanks for the response. I haven't been on in a while.
To answer both your responses I am experiencing this effect both when I have my BB connected to my PC box and just when it is sitting anywhere near it, it usually starts by disabling my mouse. I do here interference through the speakers as a call or e-mail comes through then the sound effect of the PC telling me I have unplugged the device in question.

Hi Nic~
Just one question:
What happens if you take your crapberry near to another computer system? :D
What I am suggesting is that we try to establish whether it is your static system or the mobile device that is the culprit, then take it from there?
Johnno :)
Heya Johnno.Quote:

Although I don't have one anymore (AA - crackberry meetings took care of that), everyone I know currently with one and myself, just got used to hearing occassional bursts of static on any PC speaker the 'berry was in the same room with. That leads me to believe the RF energy those things are putting out is pretty high -- I'm thinking that's gotta be the cause...
Found a good paper on BlackBerry EMI: http://www.blackberry.com/solutions/...hite_Paper.pdf
Cheers!
Hello all (thanks for the link Myk):
After running tests on all my computation devices(lol) it seems that the problem exists with only my 2 PC Desktops. My power mac is unfazed by the Crackberry, and runs normally while the USB interruption happens to both of my DT's.
Weird.
Hi Nic~
Not Weird, sounds like a |Specialist| problem to me ????????????????
Now there is a solution (to Specialist Problems).............. it involves pool chlorine bleach crystals and a certain blood red fluid associated with automobiles from a company whose name begins with the same letter as your nick ;) you will need the GSP of his current cardboard box?
Please do not try it unless you have been trained in IEDs or I send explicit instructions IT WILL KILL YOU :firedevil
So, will "predator" or its replacement send the MIB to my gaff after that post?
Wait for the next thrilling installment........... only on AO.........
Galdron "the Chef" hooks up with a ladies hair stylist to make an IED...........or maybe the chick down the gas station.............. ???;)
The MIB invade nihil's gaff and meet a friend of Galdron's who is on vacation...... but has not eaten for several days...............
Hell's Teeth! guys and gals, when those demonic ninja tortoises from the Galapagos islands invade Florida............... is it only us "good ole Brits" who will be able to help youse out?
Gore: Has the bastard systems operator from Michigan retired, or is he operating undercover in I-rack ???
We are starting to feel exposed on this forum..............
:D
Hell's teeth Johnno
the nihilish speak is REALLY kicking in today :P
and Galdron,
have you tried a distance test on said BB :?
as in, it is acceptable, no hang ups when it is over 6' away
or does it just cause havoc wheneverit is on in the same house as the PC ?
You need professional help Johhno. ;)
It is causing interference in my whole house (condo) which is 1400 square feet.Quote:

My guess is......
Magnetic Induction...... i would imagine when your phone goes off near the usb device, the power spikes and the mainboard turns off the port (or similar)... in which case is a good thing rather than something going bang :p
Just a thought
I had a situation when i had a nextel phone back in the day where just before it rang up until i hung up the phone, any speakers would pop and crackle so i know these new phones can make an impact on electronic devices. my guess is the blackberry messing with the signals in the other devices. FCC approved my arse!
Yes certian frequencies can interfere with speakers. Mostly GSM does this for cell phones. The problem wouldnt be the phone in this case it would be the motherboard since it has to be able to accept frequencies that pass through it. Faulty or poorly made.
My conclusion is that the Blackberry shouldn't be doing what it is. I guess that it is defective or about to fail.
I have had the same experience as mungyun with mobile phones, but they had to be pretty close to the system. I have also seen a desk fan on the way out kill CRT screens.
IIRC the Blackberry is quite powerful in terms of range, so I would expect a defective one to cause problems over quite a wide area?
:(
It's brand new, but I am going to exchange it and find out. Strange how it has no ill effect on my Mac. ????Quote:

Hi Nic~
I used to work in retail electronics (IT Department). Our experience was that over 70% of stuff that "went wrong" did so in the first seven days, so "new" doesn't always mean "good".
As for the MAC I would suspect that it is some sort of frequency thing?
:)
Thanks for all your help DoodZ.Quote:
