Speeding up Internet Explorer 8

I have ran it and it seems to allow for things to appear quicker then what it did prior to running the script. :)

I've been using IE 8 from Beta 1 To RC stage and now the final one !.. I've never faced ANY SUCH DELAY !.. I may will give the script a try on a VM .. :p

I have definitely noticed the delay, and only on sites with a heavy script presence, and/or flash content.

But it doesn't happen here. One of the best examples of this problem would be this site.that site takes almost half a minute to load in IE 8, takes about four seconds in Firefox and Opera.

However it's important to note that it really wasn't any faster in version 6 or seven.

It came up at about two seconds for me. So yeah, that's really slow compaired to how quickly IE usually displays pages. *Smirks*

I came online at an era when everyone was still using Netscape. Um, trust me... IE displays things much quicker than most browsers.

OK thanks. I wonder if it's settings related, or perhaps a software conflict somewhere. I'm going to experiment a bit

No, I'm a forum manager, for 29 forums. If I had expertise in each of the topics those 29 forums cover, few companies would be able to afford me.

True, true... But you should of by now picked a few bit's of no-how during your time here, to learn how to configure a firewall. ;)

I do know how, just didn't realize until now that was the issue. I know how to exempt specific IPs from traffic scanning.

Most of the members on this site have had their bullshit blogs defaced. And almost everyone who's had mod status here between 2003-'06 have either had their accounts taken over or have been talked into doing something silly to someone else's account.

I think what JPncy actually wanted to say was... that he doesn't spend three to eight hours infront of his computer collecting cheetos stains like everyone else here.

I do spend quite a number of hours in front of the PC but I have to divide it between 29 forums. I also try to squeeze a life in between, here and there. :)

Actually JPnyc is somewhat similar to myself/ He just gathers beer, claret, burgundy, port, whisky and brandy stains ;)

They're actually really good John, if you don't mind having orange fingers afterward. They're sort of puffy cheese snacks, purely junkfood and in no way good for you. But then most things that are fun in life, aren't. In fact offhand I can't think of one.

I can name three browsers off the belt that will load pages quicker then IE and that is off the top of my head FF, Opera and Chrome. I haven't tried many others but I bet Safari is probably quicker then IE8.
