As you know those big and huge flash ads slows down the loading speed of the website...
There's some tools i know... like mozilla and proxmitron can block ads... or editing the host file... which one is the best choice to use?

Well for pop up's I currently use the google toolbar, It seems to do the job of blocking pop's quiet well.
As for big flashy adverts, I'm not usually bothered by them, So I can't really help you there.
If Your using WindowsXP, from service pack 2 onwards, Internet explorer will include its own pop up blocking, Which will be quiet usful
I presently use Netscape to block pop-ups and a little kludge file to block the flash ads. http://krath.dk/linux/flash_blocking/
I know this works on Linux but not sure about Windows. :D
I use opera :D Love it, if you still use IE I'd switch to opera or mozilla...
As for now there are so many irritating web components out there.... like flash ads, pop up, ad. i use Proximitron to block ads and pop up, mozilla to provide me MDI functions... though it renders webpages ugly imo, and no more irritating activeX pop up i think well definately it does the job well :D
i use a combination of your suggestions, i use opera for all web browsing where possible, always have proxomitron running, also i block any adservers i run into the the HOSTS file, mine is currenty half a meg ( i downloaded it somewhere, cant remember where tho sorry), try goggling for 'ad blocking hosts file', or '127.0.0.1 hosts file'
i'll attach mine in zip format for you to use if you like
