Ghost,
ZoneAlarm Pro can talk to your linksys firewall if you have the correct bits and pieces:
ZoneLabs information
Linksys also produces a LogViewer which you can find at:
FTP the LogViewer application
You can also find this link at the bottom of this page:
http://www.linksys.com/Products/prod...rid=23&prid=20
Don't know if that's exactly what you were looking for ... but I hope it helps.
Cheers,
BrainStop.
crap it wont work with my free version of za. but thanks anyways
I was the one. It's comes with the latest firmware upgrade. Bad thing is. It only works with ZA Pro. That sucks. Maybe they will add support for the freeware version.
how much security does a linksys router provide, only relying on nat for protection?
No they won't add that functionality into the free version. If they did that there'd be no reason top buy the Pro version. BTW- ZA sucks for Outbound traffic.
Very well actualy. However it is a double edged sword. It has port forwarding but on a very limited set of standard ports. In the NAT it is is even more limited. So it makes it very secure. In fact some file sharing clients will not even work period as well as most game servers. The only solution with this router is to put them in the DMZ which I would'nt advise anyone to do. If you want more option albeit less security you can use an SMC router.Quote:

Alot but it's better to have a firewall behind it
adds more safety the linksys router may have firmware bugs or
specific security issues that have be fixed in the next
update you can't count on the router being 100% invincible.

thanx {P²P}Apocalypse and chawleyx87d...
Anytime. As always.Quote:
Just everyone remember. Regardless of security software or devices. They are only secure as the current user and their practices.
Linksys works great with the appropriate software firewall or even better. Hardware firewall. It will be enough for mosr users though. Unless you run some type of server or remote call procedure, and/or app.
Enjoy and TY..................
