I have installed Slackware 9.1 and I am now trying to to increase performance with hdparm but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts. No matter what I set the drive still has the same thouroughput. Is there a reason why I am not able to increase it? I also need help with optimising my DVD drive also. All help will be greatly appreciated.
