Hi Phone~
Can't get it to happen :confused:
IE 6 SP1
Mozilla 1.7
Windows ME
Resolution 1024x768
32 bit true colour
Looks fine in both browsers

Ah this is the thing that gets me the most and the reason I wish everyone would switch to Mozilla Firefox! lol. Although, it looks good I see your problem. Its with the pic alignment for your border table. It is your height attribute!
Code:
<td width="100%"height="50px" background="images/tile-bottom.jpg">
Using this method varies when used between these browsers<or others for that matter>. This is whats causing your problem. Why don't you make the sectioned off into 3 images(check the link below to see what I mean!). And have the images in the background of the td tag? And then add a css class::
Make sure that your table is big enough to show the image or it will not show it!
Code:
<td backgroud="yourpichere.jpg" class="whatever">
CSS code:: put this in yourexternal style sheet that you have
Code:
.whatever{
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
I tried this before I posted this and it worked; but before you give it thought back it up as always! Hope this helps or points you in the right direction!

that doesn't work, cuz then how are the images supposed to tile and fill up the table as far as they need to go? i guess i could do that and have all of the images made exactly the right size for my site, but i want to be able to add new pages to the navbar, etc. and have the borders expand to accomodate that, if they dont tile that wont happen...
what about this?
i was messing around trying to create a table with notepad and editing it with notepad, it works in both ie and firefox, im just trying to compare my code in both and figure out why... i had thought that maybe ie always puts black borders around images unless you explicitly specify border="0"(like it is in this page), but that didnt seem to change anything when i tried it on the actual site

you have to specify the height and width of the table- reference from your pic size! I'll try some stuff out now and get back to you!
Also on your second table page you used normal attributes instead of percents and px like you did before on your mainpage. Like said before in my post bofore IE and Mozilla handles these differently
edit:::::
I just realized that my previous example did not work. It would have to be put in the tr tag and not the td tag when you work with multiple images and even then it doesn't work out. Dam, I'm sorry man.
also
I tried this
css::
.test{
border-collapse: collapse;
}
html::
<img yourpic.jpg class="test">
this worked and eliminated the border in IE, mozzila stays the same. Border="0" works also- like you said but you need to change the height to normal attributes before it will work.
