I run WIN XP and the last 2 times I booted up telnet started.
Im not sure if this is a tell tale sign of a virus.

Thats pretty weird... if you can, go further into detail as to what happends.
Is it trying to connect to a server or is it just booting up as if you just opened it?
... Or do you mean the service? In a command prompt type "services.msc" and in the window that pops up find the Telnet service. If it's running, stop it and if the startup type is Automatic set it to Manual.
or as obvious as it may seem type "msconfig" in the "run" box and make sure telnet is not due to startup when the computer starts up :) hehe .. very basic but you never know, you could also check the startup in the start menu
Its just booting up .....
msconfig tells me that mcc was checked to startup during boot.
But why?
Don't see why he was negged, but okay. Anyways, it's in autoexec.bat because it's a hardware file for your D drive.
Why did someone neg him for this post??Quote:

I was about to ask the same thing. A simple question about a popup window on startup that's a service and he gets negged?Quote:
