SUSE, Wiki's and Trust
So obviously, there's an inherent lack of trust with the Wiki concept... since anyone can edit a wiki at any time, the information available can't be trusted to be from anyone or contain correct information about anything
Then why does openSUSE use wiki software on their download page? Does anyone else see the obvious issue?

So I'm thinking to myself... okay, maybe there's a PGP signature to verify the .iso's... and no, there isn't. There's MD5, but hey! That's wiki'd too!
All it takes is an 8 dollar typojack and a malicious ISO to ruin someone's day. :(

You have to remember though that just because it's a Wiki doesn't mean that anyone can change it... Wikipedia has given people that opinion and it isn't correct... Click edit on the SuSE site for example... you have to log in to edit anything... so you need a valid account..

The only time I'll call online registration a security measure is when a credit card or digital certificate is involved... :D

Alrighty, I'll have to give you that... I just went in with my Novell credentials... definately let's me bring up the pages in edit mode...
