Win2000 open ports
I am currently running Win2000 on a new machine I got, so it's clean and fresh. I've just installed Tiny Personal FW and something odd jumps into sight. Normally I've only got System listening on 137 -> 139 and 1676. Now I've also got these:
SVCHOST.EXE listening on 135, TCP&UDP and 520, UDP
TCPSVCS.EXE listening on 7, 9, 13, 17, 19, all UDP&TCP
Can someone give me a word of explication, since the three MCSE's who I work with say they don't knwo anything 'bout it.
Enlighten me!
Grtz,

135 and 520 are the RPC ports, windows 2000 listens to requests for services on unknown ports on these ports.
7,9,13,17,19 are worthless things that 2000 listens for by default, things like echo requests, time of day changes, etc.

My mistake
I'm sorry I forgot to say this: the ports are known to me.
It's about the processes, what do they do? And what's more: what's not going to work anymore when I kill them? I'm myself also searching for proper info on these two proceses, but I still haven't found something usable.
Tx allready,
