Hello Simo,
I found this site by searching Google and foud this realy intresting site...
Now I don't know if it's like the same router you have but going by your question I think it's pretty close ...
The site :Setting up aLinksys router
It's even got printscreens :D
Hope this helps ...
Greetz,
C.
well,
the default ip for most SOHO linksys router/firewall combos is 192.168.1.1, the Web configuration is protected by HTTP Basic Auth. the default username is admin, and the default pass is admin.
Once your logged in, click on the advanced tab, and then port forwarding. Figure out what port the game server listens on, and change the port numbers in one row to that, and put your computer's private ip in the IP space. Don't forget to click apply. You can check on an NT based computer with ipconfig or a 9x with winipcfg.
You know, there's a reason things ship with a manual in the box... I've installed linksys routers before and AFAIK it's clearly explained in the manual.
Ammo
Just be careful.... If you open the wrong port to the wrong internal IP
address you could be "Cracked"
I use Linksys Routers all the Time and they are great....
Work fine for games, web and mail servers, nice to share 1 routable IP
address for more than one piece of equipment...
This is a tutorial to set up the port forwarding for IDENTD and DCC sessions for IRC, but the same steps can be applied to port forwarding for games and what not. All you need to know is the port range the game runs on. Check the game's manual or website for that info. Good luck!
1) Before you do anything, change the default password from "admin"
2) Ditto, RTFM.

:what:
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but this almost sounds like you are connecting to a game that your friend(s) are running. Clarify that for us please.Quote:

The default on the Linksys Router is everything out and nothing into the network. That would mean that the problem is not on your end unless you have a personal firewall that's blocking that game from going out to the Internet.
More information please.
Edit: You really should make sure you Read The Fine Manual. ;)
