sound card driver

Hi all,
Have this strange problem with sound card driver.
I have dual booting with xp pro and suse 10.3.Noticed for a while now every time i start pc in xp i have to reinstall sound card driver as system shows it is not installed.
If i use suse i have no issues at all.
i have nvidia windows 2000/xp nforce driver.
When i finish installing it and reboot it is same thing.Its not there.
I am able to use after installing it and without rebooting sound works ok.(when asked after installation do you want to restart now i thick no).
Any suggestions?
