Chinese WGA
It seems the Chinese don't like Microsoft's WGA :D
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/bizchin...nt_7127572.htm
Now, I wonder why that might be?................ seems that they think it violates or interferes with their computers.......... silly buggers, they should read the EULA more carefully.
You don't "buy" M$ software you "licence it" and it still "belongs" to M$. If you don't like that you boot Linux and use Open Office and other open source products.
The one thing M$ will have to watch though is how their implementation of WGA actually works................ their track record so far has certainly been less than stellar?

I wish I could sell tickets for this fight. What's Gates gonna do
accuse the Chinese of being "communists"? LOL

Yep, I see the makings of an interesting one here.
Nominally the Chinese authorities pay lip service to copyright protection but in reality do very little to enforce it. They catch a few counterfeiters every now and then and appear to punish them quite severely.
However, I am sure that we all know that the real "crime" was not paying bribes and not declaring the income for tax. The "counterfeiting" charge is just to appease the West. ;)
Given that WGA has screwed up legitimate installations in the past, and M$ have gotten away with it, it will be interesting to see what happens when the same thing happens in China, and is subject to Chinese jurisdiction?

I think WGA is not working as good as Microsoft wants it to work.
I have it removed and skip it on all updates.
Recently i got XP SP3 and all major updates as of last week.
Why pay for something when you can get it for free?

Yeah lets just steal because we can beat the system.
Whatever, immature comments.

It's a C-O-N Spear-a-see!
Microsoft is working with the U.S. DoD to keep Chinese hackers from stealing national secrets.
meh YO BILL and STEVE:
Remember when you said there were like a million installs of windows in China, and that was fine you'd figure out how to get paid for all those illegal installs later?
So How's that working out for ya?
