leaving the m$ path

Hi All,

I just set an older system with Linux (an earlier version of Red Hat). I plan on setting it up and configuring it. I have gotten many great m$ answers from here and I've seen some great Linux based posts. I will be dedicating more time to this forum as I explore the new system and learn new functionality. I am not going to be asking that many questions until I have struggle w/the issue for 3wks (I want to remember the solutions not just make it work and this will be a better learning method for me).

I installed an old 14GB HD on the new old system -which it turns out had Linux on it previously -but not a build a I reconized, but I must of done it because I remember the root password.
