Favourite portscanners anyone?
I like 7th Sphere for Windows... and nmap for Linux!!!
Speaking of... I'm trying to write a "net tools" application (ping, traceroute, portscan, netbios session scanner, wingate scanner etc...) using Borland C++ builder [3 Pro or 4 Standard]... If anyone has any bits & pieces of C++ source that would be in any way helpful to me it'd me much appreciated if you could throw them in my general direction!!!!!
My favorite port scanner is "port map" it can do everything and them some:D
I think for me it has to be nmap! love that prog ;)
-=SolarisMKA=- :D
Yeah, It's official:
NMAP RULES
PortScanning...*breathes in heavily*. For Linux...NMap for me is arguably THE best program to get the job done. But for Windows, for which I have Windows2k Pro, I highly recommend 7th Sphere or another program called SuperScan, which I think could be better then 7th Sphere. Where 7th Shere excels in speed, SuperScan excels in configurablity. You decide. :)
Iwould have to go with nmap(duhh) for *nix and Foundstones SuperScan for Windows.
Have to go with Nmap on linux, and probably netcat for Windows (I'd portsurf manually using a batch file). I think I'll check out 7th Sphere now though, after seeing so many recommendations.
I use one I think it's called Toto Stat. I really need 2 check. But I'm posting because I see 7th sphere mentioned often. I went to www.7thspheredot whatever and see that one has to join to DL anything! I hate that kind of ****! Why not just have a private page for private members? Really ... I hate it.
I think superscan for windows is good.
Pretty good options.
Very complete.
