I had the same problem as nihil.
However the old thread made me realise neg had been banned.
What happened?
Steve
The short story is that he started a *nix thread, a few members posted correct information but he started he's usual douchebaggery of *nix and got called out on a few things and he deleted the thread, t34b4g5 had already made a copy of the thread via the in-line moderation tools.
Thread got copied back and neg got called out further he then deleted the thread again and the copied version and randomly started logging in being a douche
MsMittens called him and he wouldn't give a direct answer to what was up just that he wanted he's account banned.
Steve,
It has always been a "feature" of vBulletin that you can't resign, retire, be closed, or even downright die!..................the only option is to "ban" an account.
I find this a glaring demonstration of unprofessionalism on the part of Jelsoft Enterprises.................hell! we are at version 3.8.4
"Banned" doesn't look good, so people who might politely take their leave of a site, will not do so?................a lot of recruiters look at the internet and ask questions about site memberships..............if you are banned, will they know that is Jelsoft's lack of subtlety?...............I doubt it.
I do not think it would be rocket science to add a few more descriptors to match an account status?
Ack phutt! as Bill the cat would say :)
Johnno the function to create "Retired" useraccount settings has always been available. All the admin of the site needs to do is create a new usergroup and select the relevant permission settings and then assign the useraccount into that new usergroup as the primary usergroup.
Screenshots from a vb 4.0 setup ( Similar settings in vb 3.8.* versions also).

Ooooooooo! I didn't know that.........
I am afraid I am still somewhat locked into the bastardised v2.x version that we used to run, mindset :(
Sooooo.................."Spat his dummy and jumped out of the pram" would also be possible?
How many characters are you allowed in the group descriptor? :lildevil:
hey Nihil, your your PM's. ;)
YeS, It Will....
I think it will Be work better than previous
Spec.. have you played Test Drive Unlimited
