new to dos prompt
To begin, thanks for taking the time to read this.
I recently came a cross a guy using DOS to do i would like to know how to do. The only thing i know how to do with DOS is VIEW, CREATE and DELETE directories. If any could direct me to a website, or post a tutorial on DOS networking. Such as accessing others computers on a network. I would be much appreciative.
THX,

Microsoft has slowly been trying to get rid of DOS, but it is just to handy...I routinely use it at work....for networking purposes, as well as "batch" files for login scripts in a Microsoft enviroment. If you learn Linux, it is like DOS on steriods. You can preform much more complex solutions that you can only dream about in Microsoft (or pay thousands of dollars to purchase a product that will do the same thing).

You might want to consider this: as ter450 said, MSDos is slowly being pushed out commision - that has at least one advantage: MS-Dos books are practically given away. Visit your local bookstore, or possibly second-hand bookstore (for the Dutch readers, try "De Slegte," for example) and browse. I picked up an old but 500 pages tutorial for something close to 5 dollar, brand new... Give it a try.
And by the way, I'm happy to see you take interest in learning DOS. Good luck!

Dos have is own help! Just type "help" at the prompt and you gonna have alot of help... The help for DOS on Windows is not that good like it was in the original DOS but still can do the trick.
