Vps
Guys
How hard would it be to setup a VPS? i know there is software out there from swsoft.com that allows you to create a VPS, but wot would be the bare minimum hardware requitments, ie could i run a VPS on a laptop or would i need a dedicated server?...has anyone ever run a pen test against a vps or vmware as loads of companies these days are investing into vmware style apps!
also does vmware offer vps?
Thanks

Well VMWare does have the ESX product, which is designed for large scale server deployment. You can also look at the free VMWare Server product.
As for pen test, are you referring against the underlying OS or the VMs? Either way same old principles apply. If you mean to detect whether a VM exists (that is, it's a VM not a physical box) then there are a few tools out there that do detect VMs such as Red Pill.
