Took me ten seconds with Google.Quote:
All Users :
Use current engine and DAT files for detection and removal.
Modifications made to the system Registry and/or INI files for the purposes of hooking system startup, will be successfully removed if cleaning with the recommended engine and DAT combination (or higher).

The name is different... the code is the same.
So I would suggest that either your virus definition files are outdated, or escan just sucks?
As previously stated, get yourself an antivirus program and save yourself a lot of woes.... what you have now is crap... now to answer your actual question
Download a removal tool from here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com...oval.tool.html
(scroll down its down there keep looking)
It appears as if this one is kind of a doozy anyway as it messes with a lot of crap

W32.HLLW.Lovgate@mm. This variant is also a mass-mailing worm that attempts to email itself to all the email addresses it finds in the files whose extensions start with "ht." The subject and attachment of the incoming email are chosen from a predetermined list.
and if you have anything else on your LAN I would recommend doing a virus scan on those as well since this variant will replicate itself across the LAN
these kinds of responses used to be greeted with antipoints, now a days they dont mean ****.
Hi
Thanks a ton boss. I also had nimda virus on the lan here, the sys admin is no good here
bye
sourabhdhar,
Bitchslap your sysadmin...
Where do you work exactly?
Sounds like some serious permission issues need to be addressed, no?
Two viruses on my network in less than a week, and I'd likely be outta a job...

try getting adaware and Spybot SD
Not to shoot you down Tex.. but these will not block these worms, nore are they any good at protecting on a network enviroment..Code:try getting adaware and Spybot SD
There are a lot mre that can be done at the client before you throw these removal tools in..
IF the machines are internet browsing permitted ..then Spybot, or the Pro version of AAW will complement the security policies in place, and WIL NOT REPLACE any effective Anti virus solution (note I am not saying software alone here).. Also what good are ant-spy/adware progs on a server..(I assume part of the problem is a server) which shouldnt be web-browsing

Speaking of points, does this post have one?
Und3ertak3r, i know how to take constructive critism and thanx for the info.... and a good anti virus is a must.....
if you want to remove virus from your computers, i recomend this steps.
1) download sysclean and the lattest pattern file from trendmicro
2) Shutdown your network.
3) Shutdown the system Restore (if you have) then reboot the computers and enter in safe mode
4) run the sysclean in your computers
5) ask your sys admin for a Anti-virus server + client
If your working in a small company, you can try Avast Pro.
and at home you can use Avast Home (its free).
This is a quite good anti-virus, and its free for home users.
