yeah, i'll give a look at the mail database.... perhaps i can access it...
as for the problem, i will keep looking, not for a tool to crack it, but to find out what kind of encryption is used for the password, so i can write a tool myself :)
and this is just to learn something from it...

but suppose i can get my mail folder, how can i read my mail if i can't open lotus notes????

This is a test of social skills, you will have to get one of your co-workers to do that. If you move your mail folder (unprotected) into that, you should be able to use the merge/import facilities. But it will need good social engineering or a very big marker, as they will have to get rid of it afterwards.
