Welcome.. Search the archives.. This question has been asked a couple of zillion times..
Try asking your friend what his IP is. And what if you get his IP? What are you going to do with it? What do you think you can do with it? You want mine?
i know that they will tell me that , i also know that i can't do anything with it, now. but just want to know some trick. anyway thanks for advice i will try to search in archeive.
Hmmm,
I guess that it is 127.0.0.1?
The relevance of an ISP assigned IP address is pretty minimal if the connection is based on dynamic addresses.
If you are trying to use collaboration software stuff like Netmeeting and the like you will have to set up each session on an ad hoc basis.
If this is a business related question, then ISPs will give you a static address (which you would probably want) but they will charge you for it :(
I think what liionheart is trying to ask is: how do you get somone's ip from Yahoo messenger? To get someones IP you need to have a direct connection from your computer to theirs. So for example if you send somone a file, song or webcam with them, you will be able to run netstat -a from the command prompt and see their ip appear in the list of active connections . Quite what you are planning to do with it is another matter. A WHOIS lookup on dnsstuff.com will tell you some more info about the persons ip, such as which isp they are using and their isp's contact details.
Hmmm,
Anonymous proxies, wardriving, AOL's architecture?
I suspect that it is not as simple as some might think ;)
yes i also know that trick, about sending files . but there are software like buddyspy which shows that if a contact is online or not irrespective of their stealth setting . so modus operandi of these software is all together different or just i am missing something that they know.
Mine is ::1 ;)Quote:
