It was SO DAMN F******* confusing because the ASS who set up the IPS did a piss poor job.. I spent considerable amount of time going through the IPS logs and found nothing.. Today in sheer frustration I asked to turn off the IPS (Bypass mode) and few other filtering device's off and guess what - everything is back to NORMAL !..
THE FREAKING IPS DID IT ! I'm still trying to figure out why since IPS team is different from what head..
GOD DARN ! So many storms for nothing (don’t kill me for this) .. I'm just being honest !..
PS : We don’t have a WINS server and issue just flew off after IP was changed (explains the IPS or filtering device coming into picture) but since the logs didn’t say anything I didn’t look at the IPS again..
Machines dont have multiple LAN cards..
