perhaps the default configurations on all boxes should be scaled back, removing services and users so that admins have to physically start them. I know that about half the services on my box wouldn't...

ZA can be a bit of a pain in the arse, e.g. Playing WC3 and it pops up in the background (so you can't click on it) and preventing the socket so WC3 hangs :/

remember that if :
1) your machine is compromised and then
2) used to attack another machine and
3) you have *deliberatly* left your machine open
then you could probabily be sued.
