ok have got it all working
vnc server is listenintg on port 443
all works at home but at work which is routed through a proxy i get the vnc login screen but cannot connets as...

i am trying to set up a vnc to a server running x11vnc
the remote computer can access ports 443 and 8080, further it can only access server via java
i have run this on the server

Perhaps I could turn her off more often
I do clean and lube up the fan regularly although always fairly clean.
It is kind ok a main pc as in it is a server which I use. I use webmin to manage it...

currently my old dell server is on it's last legs, running for last 5 years 24/7
it is currently duel booting xp and linux (need xp for itunes for itouch but that is another questions)
i have used avast for years, recommended it to friends and never had a problem. well worth its cost.....FREE
how they do that i have no idea but it is good
(have also used avg but felt it missed...

i have to agree i love irongeek's site cos it has stuff you can try and work
plus you see his desktop and i have often found this more benifitial

i have found this file ~.exe 52kb in size, it's contensts look like this but more could be hidden
i have tried searching google with "~.exe" but nothing
when i tried to delete it...

no work can accept any external emails sent to my work email address

i need a work around so i can get emails at work

i have been looking at my web logs and getting a lot of traffic from localhost
it is def not to snoop on any one else it is just paranoia!
i can not believe that the new setup (modem-router) is as secure as my old setup (modem-pc-routuer) and here i could see all arp ...
the router does have logging but only outgoing
it is only a simple little router
i take it by

but the current method means i can not see what the router is picking up
mind you wireshark says there is nothing untoward but,.......

cable modem via usb to pc
pc to wireless router by eth0 card via ethernet cable
this meant all wireless...

well this is even weirder
opened up undelete plus, undeleted all files which should have been wiped to local disk. these files had names like Ds432.xxx
once undeleted i renamed them all...
