Although my vote probably won't mean that much because I don't frequent AO anymore, but I just don't really see what rep points are doing for the site. While I was...

At work, I'll switch to Vista fairly soon after it's released - at some point, Vista will be the OS in which my users are working on, so I'll get in on the ground floor so I can be ready to work with...

Ok, I see... So essentially, your hosting all of these sites behind one IP address (in this case, it is either dynamic or static)? Not knowing your exact network setup, I can tell you that what you...

Generally speaking, it is a good idea to have static IP's to run websites and/or services such as FTP, email, etc. However, you can still operate websites and said services from a dynamic IP address...

Still vulnerable to what, exactly?
Have you checked Bugtraq to see if there are any vulnerabilities associated with the newest version of Yahoo Messenger?

Along the lines of 'loyalty' cards, the 'Players Clubs' that most casinos, big and small, are offering these days. They track your gambling, hotel usage, etc. info all over the place...

Not knowing the specifics of the 'other' companys' networks, from what you say, it sounds as if the problem will be on their end. Several other companies are connecting through the PPTP VPN you have...

Hey Blunt, me again :)
Has this company been able to successfully connect to your firewall via the PPTP VPN recently? I know you just got all of this set up, but have they made any successful...

I agree with Synja - when I do system lockdowns, it consists of mostly making registry changes, implementing certain security policies by using either secpol, domain security policies, etc. I feel...

First and foremost, I don't understand why you can't simply deny access to YOUR computer by your sister and HER friends? But I'm not in your situation and therefore can't speak on that subject...

You don't have to set anything up as far as NAT - the VPN service that you add on the Firebox will take care of allowing access from the outside, through the VPN tunnel, to your internal server...
