Gentoo.... :D Nah, not if you're wanting to just install and go. I've had good experience with SuSE and I've heard Fedora is good, but I've never used it.

Looks to me like this is just using TOR for web browsing, rolled into an easy to use package.

My guess is that the live cd automounts the ext3 partition as ro (read-only), so you just need to remount it as rw (read-write). Assuming that the ext3 partition is hda1 and that it's currently...

Ah, ok, I just misread your post. Looks like we were saying the same thing just in slightly different words. :) Yup, I'd agree, totally fake through and through, most likely because it gives...

I'm not 100% positive on this, but I belive that's non-modifiable information. On HDDs isn't it stored on the flash chip on the circuit board? And doesn't the USB spec have something about making...

If you're gonna give Linux a go, I'd suggest SuSE as a first time distro. That's what I started with and I learned a lot from the experience. While I've moved on to Gentoo, I wouldn't recomend that...

I'm not so much of an elitist about it, but I use Gentoo mostly. It does what I need, and has none of the package dependency problems I experienced with RPM based distros and Debian based distros. ...
