Nihil,
Thanks! Installed it, seems like a trial version though, will last till July 23rd. Then I can't save any changes anymore...
Interface is pretty good, but a little cumbersome. Would be nice...

Nihil,
It looks really promising! Will give it a try!
Many thanks!
Edit:
Ouch, the free one doesn't have Vista support! :(
That was too bad, looked really good...

I agree. I don't like Zone Alarm, and I love(d) Sygate, but it's been "shut down" by Symantec. I guess it was too good for Symantec to let them exist...
However I now got Vista on my computer and I...

I'm hoping somebody out here has experience with this, and had my problem, but figured out a good fix/workaround?!
We just migrated from Groupwise to Exchange 2003. We are pushing out Office 2003...

Our college and a bunch of other college's and universities were on a webinar the other day discussing CALEA with a lawyer...
Appearantly they are going to start this discussion in court the 12th of...

As an additional info, if your workstations are in an unmanaged state as thehorse13 mentioned, you can try to copy & paste the GRC.DAT file from the server (located at \\server\vphome\) to this...

Finally found the answer!
Thanks for all your effort!
Here is the solution for anyone interested:
Replace this line,
strComputer = "."
...with this code:

To all of your replies, thanks! But it's not a path problem. This script works just fine under Win 2000, and not under Win 2003.
WinNT: is part of the command, it's not actually the "windows"...

Hey!
I'm not really a programmer, but a year ago I had a need of cycling the log for an Apache server (running on Win2000) we have, so I dug into trying to make my own VB script and it turned out to...

TheHorse,
Thanks a bunch! I may need this tool more than I thought...!
Some servers install just fine, but it is so inconsistent! Haven't found any common denominator at all so far, just random...

Be warned!
I have the same problem as Sickofnorton. Never had this much trouble upgrading Norton as with this version 10 of SAV CE. I'm using the Windows version for Win2000/2003 Server.
Usually...

Sorry... yeah, that is kinda funny.. hehe! ;)
Okay, I guess we have reached the point were we both understand each other, and how it all depends on the different environments.
It all depends...
-
Wow.. ! What kinda line are you using?! Show-off! :P
-
That's exactly in the line I'm thinking. Unless you have it so tied down, nobody can hardly do anything, not even giving any room for the "human error", you do need an A/V solution to make up for the...

Well.. yeah, kinda new I guess, but no, what's so funny, have to fill me in on that one.. heh!? :)
The only UNIX box I have, I don't mess with much, it's a Big-IP load balancer. It does its...

Catch,
Ok, will answer your question, and hopefully you will answer my last question? :)
Don't know what AIX is, but assume it is some sort of UNIX system?
From your reasoning it sounds like...
-
I understand what you are saying, but I still don't agree. You are trying to tell me that every single box is so locked down that if a virus actually ends up on one of the boxes, it won't be able to...
-
Hehe!! Good thought! ;)
Now that is time consuming though.. I probably won't have that time today...
Hmm... in best case, the Domain policy won't be there, but the OU policy still has no...
-
Oh.. I see... well.. I would still consider that a bug though, other GP's do get disabled when you disable them. Not sure which are set in the registry or not though...
Do you happen to know where...
-
well... I had a pretty calm morning, so I had to go ahead and test it out.. heh! ;)
These are my findings:
1. Domain GP (Account Policy) - OU GP (A.P.) = Domain GP wins
2. Domain GP with A.P....
-
That's where I don't agree with you. (yet) If it's not 100% secure, you have to assume there is a small chance a virus could get through...!
Let's make a little scenario here. You have your "99%"...
-
Hey...I'm open to get "converted" if you can convince me.. heh! ;)
The point I was trying to make is you can't ever trust humans; there will always be the human error...
In most companies you...

Maaan Tiger... ! You are forcing me to try it on my network! :P
I can't just let this go now.. heh!!
Oh well... I'm too busy right now to test it, but if nobody else does it, I will... ! HAVE to...

Very interesting thread.. heh!! :)
I can see both views, but for any kinda person using a computer in a network or on the internet cummunicating in any way with others, you are not depending soley...
-
Yepp, heh!!
It is really confusing with the "Account Policies" settings only being effective from the Domain level. I wonder if you don't set any "Account Policies" settings at all on the Domain...
