u say their running nt....I've seen users shutoff the default drive letters....this is typicaly C$ D$
although they can't kill...

just helped a friend with almost the same issue.... download and install the latest dirx from microscrewup.....this fixed my friends up instantly (directX9)

as to the vnc on 2kserver.....I've seen this and it's from an older version probably 3.2.2 or some such....stop the service first... drop to dos and go to the install dir (could be tridiavnc)
