You can turn this "feature" off in media player 6.4 and 7.01. Go to TOOLS and then OPTIONS and select the PLAYER tab. Uncheck "Allow internet sites to uniquely identify your player."

that's a good point bios. the problem here is not so much NT because using ntfs would greatly reduce the risk that this hack could be implemented.
