I'm no specialist here but i think you should do that in assembly (asm). Go with Wdasm if you can find it on the net, i had good results with it.

go in control panel/administrative tools/services and check if you see a zonealarm alarm in there. If so just put the startup type to disabled

A lot of poeple were fearing a worm based on the RPC exploit. That could be what you see or
maybe a kiddie on cable who's scanning his subnet.

WinXP does work in a win2000 Active Directory and you do not need Advanced Server to set up a domain, Win2000 Server will do!
As far as the question asked goes, thehorse13 solution should work.

Just wanted to to add that a firewall does not close a port, it blocks any requests on that port. If you want to turn off the port, you have to close the daemon (service) running on that port.
