A question for a question, with the advent of SELinux in the 2.6 kernel, does this really much\k things up with iptables and the permissive or targeting policy?

I would definitely agree that reading is the key, whether it be man pages, Linux Documentation Project guides or books etc. or going to a local bookstore and buy a book on the subject of interest...

Did you create a linux native partition (ie the root directory "/" for it to boot into in addition to the extended DOS partition? Did you make a startup disk?

what distro of LM are you using?
I checked hardware compatability list for LM 9.0. It showed no information on the DFE-690TXD as for compatability. They did state the DFE-650TXD and DFE-680TXD...
