If i'm correct keylogger needs to be started when the computer is startingup.
You can check out the startup folder for suspicious programs, or check out registerentries

Did you execute the server on the victim's machine? (if not, do so :)
Does the vitims pc have a firewall. (if so, turn it off)
Give the server a password so "only" you can connect to it.
