Which version of Visual Studio do you have?
2003 or earlier will not work with Vista.
If you have 2005...download their service pack 1

The warnings are coming from Norton...so I would automatically drop its credibility to 50%.
Its probably just someone scanning a whole IP range...rather than just your computer. I wouldn't worry...

which version of NOD32 do you have? Their firewall is mediocre but their antivirus software gets rated very well. Kaspersky would be another very good antivirus, but it used significantly more...

IMO, giving M$ a call when you change hardware should take care of that issue. Every time I've reinstalled Windows OEM on my ever changing hardware, I've just called them, and everything has been OK.

I would avoid any cards with the "turbocache" technology. If you're not using the video card for gaming...a 6600 would be sufficient and rather cheap.

No. As long as windows is the most popular OS it will always be insecure. There's an incredible number of skilled people out there who will find vulnerabilities...no matter how secure M$ claims it...
