It appears that they was "Linked" to another irc server as well, Linking is where users on one server can see/join/chat in channels on another server whist still being connected to there orginal one...

Yeah I read about this also, There is a fix for allowing normal users to run BFV without having admin rights here

Looks like Linksys have released the updates at last to fix this issue
Firmware for BEFSR41 ver. 1 & ver. 2.x Here
However they don't appear to have released a fix for version 3 of this router...

Another quick way is to do a right click on your winnt/windows folder and go to properties and see what date the folder was created.

Also Microsoft have also stuck a font fix on windowsupdate, Previously the user had to download the "fix" which removes an offensive symbol from certain fonts (Nazi logo)

You will have to hold down shift when clicking on a file and then the open with option will appear, select the program you want to use it, and then click the box "always use this program"

Well for pop up's I currently use the google toolbar, It seems to do the job of blocking pop's quiet well.
As for big flashy adverts, I'm not usually bothered by them, So I can't really help you...

Go to settings --> Control panel --> click classic view --> Administrative Tools --> Services and look for the "Themes service" and change its start type to "Automatic" and then start the service....
