Red Hat and a large number of volunteer programmers have put a lot of effort into making CYGWIN.
Other than myself, does anybody use it?
I never hear or read about anyone using it.

In my opinion, I would start with Python or Pascal first, then quickly move to C or C++.
You have no real need to master Python or Pascal.

A lot of those commands are from the Adminastration Kit tools. The ntcmds.chm only has the standard Windows commands.

Most installations of Dev-C++ come with GCC.
Check your compilers \bin directory for gcc.exe, g++.exe, ect.
Are you sure it isn't your code( Object->Method when it should be Object.Method )?
