On top of everything that the others have told you, I would suggest making regular backups of your information. Keep daily backups for at least 3 days, weekly backups for at least 3 weeks, and...

I haven't purchased it through DigitalRiver yet, but wouldn't it have just been a matter of running the .exe file and it creates the iso for you? Then you'll have to burn it or mount it afterwards....

Well if you were near Eastern Iowa, I'd come and do the installation for you.. lol I doubt you'll want to pay airfare+hotel though :P
Just put one of those installs in, and sacrifice it to the...

If you purchase the "Upgrade" retail copy, then neither of the Operating Systems will be transferrable (meaning whichever one you upgrade, it can't be transferred). If you purchase the "full"...

Ok, so if you connect one computer to the modem, you are able to get to the Internet without any problems, correct?
What I would suggest is connect a computer directly to the modem. Verify that...

The first question that I would ask you is this. When you configured your router, did you have to put your username and password for your DSL connection in (under PPoE) or did you just get an IP...

The things I would worry about are these. If they encrypted their files using the Administrator password (or any user password), then resetting that password will lock them out of those files.

My suggestion is to contact the ex and find out whether they are sending the e-mails or not. If you're sure they are not living in Wisconsin, then most likely the computer they used while they WERE...

I've used Comodo on Vista and it was alright. The only real annoyance that I got was if I didn't put it in "Installation Mode" before I started an install, I ended up with a bunch of pop-ups...

There's an easy four step process that does this same thing.
1. Start a conversation with your friend.
2. Open a command prompt and type netstat -a
3. Send the friend a voice clip or a file....

You need to use long or double or something like that. I believe that int only goes from -32767 to 32766 (or something along those lines). So, once it hits the maximum, it's starting over at the...

Another option is to make an external floppy drive (using a USB External enclosure) and go to http://www.loginrecovery.com and download their image. You can either pay them $24.95 (I believe) for...

So you don't have the Windows 2000 Server on an Internet facing adapter (at least not as your first server in line) and you have your router or gateway block Ports 139 and 445 from the Internet.

And also, do you have WSUS installed? I think you may need to install the base version of WSUS before you can install SP1. Or there may be a different file that you can download (which is the...

I'm not an expert by any means (having only played with WSUS a few times). I would ask if you have IIS installed on the server though? It seems to me that it's having problems with that portion. ...

My gosh, they were "partially clothed" You mean their parents didn't make them wear those full-body bathing suits that were popular in the 1800's? What's this world coming too..........

I'm not an expert on this, however I would say that to be "Legal" you will need to purchase a Mac and either triple boot (bootcamp) or use VM's to run XP and Linux. I would think that the iTunes and...

I want to add one thing to gore's post. Regardless of which option you choose, if the home users will be connecting through dialup (less likely) then you should configure the server with a phone...

There are a lot of ways to do this. One is to purchase and configure a proxy server and then force all users to go through that to the Internet. Another may lie in the NetGear Router's setup...

I wonder if that's Firefox with any add-ons installed or just a vanilla installation. Out of the box, IE8 is more secure than all of them (and I'll admit that without a review), but with the addons...

Well, I'm old....
Of your list, I recognized 17 names (and probably have only listened to about 14 of them). As for musical tastes, I like everything and nothing -- depending on my mood.

Thanks, and I'm glad to be here. I'll probably only post when something comes across my RSS that interests me though. Which may be a lot. :D
Have a great weekend :)

It's not Microsoft that's doing this. It's the different companies who are selling Vista. Newegg for one. I'm not sure how much Microsoft is/isn't saying to them about it though.
