OSX is a 64bit operating system
So i do get the full effect with the 64bit operating system, and BackTrack i think also comes in a 64bit flavor though 32bit for that isn't a problem.

Will definitely have to look into adding an SSD along with 2GB more of ram. 4GB is nice but 6GB would be better along with the added bonus for when im working with VMs
