I'm not really a graphics guy, I have little more than a journeyman's knowledge of Photoshop or paint shop Pro. It's not a question of how much resource, it's just the idea of unnecessary processes...

so does this also mean that Mac should not load Safari as the default browser? This is absolutely ridiculous. An operating system has to come with SOME browsers set as default, what would you expect...
