Maybe I'm still not getting the problem here....but doesn't he just want to edit the boot.ini so it automatically loads the 2000 partition?

Control Panel > System > Advance > System and startup(settings) > Edit > From here, you'll just edit the boot.ini so it only brings up the Windows 2000.

So you're just trying to get the boot options to give you the option back to choosing between Xp and 2000, or rename what the options say? Or did I mis-interpret.

Seems I'm a bit confused on my terms here...what I did was took out the battery for about 5 minutes, and put it back in, tried to boot the system. And I also used the jumper option to clear the CMOS....

Replaced the old one because it wasn't large enough. When I installed my second HD, I had to unplug my DVD rom to make it boot.
