Try verifying the e-mail server package with rpm -V. That will compare the files to the rpm database and make sure none of them changed. Is the server Postfix?

I had the exact same problem about a week ago - tried permissions and everything. This website helped me out:

I just installed AIDE on a linux server (from an rpm), and everything seemed to go well, but I ran into a problem.
A lot of different sources suggest that you keep the binary, conf, and database...

No, I updated Kerio not too long ago, I think it was actually a few weeks ago, not the beginning of november. I'll see if there's another update/pach, whatever.

I guess that's why, that Kerio isn't supported. I've had the windows firewall disabled since I installed SP2. Thanks for your replies.

Hey everyone,
I've been having some trouble lately with the firewall I've been using for quite some time, Kerio PF 4. I found out that when I browse the internet with IE, Kerio thinks that some...

Did you guys think of setting up a gzippped web server for AO? I know that it costs more in CPU usage, but better to buy a faster cpu once than pay more in bandwidth costs every month ;)
Just a...

I guess none of you use webmin (www.webmin.com), but that's what I used to configure iptables. A big security downside of webmin is that the entire program is run by root, but since I only allow my...

Thanks everyone for your help, I fixed everything now. The nat router only lets port 25 in, and the rules that cacosapo mentioned worked perfectly.

Thanks for your replies. Cacosapo, those two rules at the end of your post would work for all services then? So for example, if I also wanted to put a webserver online, I would open port 80 incoming...

Thanks for your reply, DreamDown. Its required that I open the local ports, since it talks to other mail servers and the way tcp works, its needed to do that (unless there's a more secure way to...

Ok this I never understood. Why would business SDSL at a slower speed be more expensive than ADSL at a faster speed?
At verizon.com, they advertise business DSL with speeds of 1.5M/384K with a...

Well, if the ISP blocks port 25 from getting to your computer, that would mean even though you are running your SMTP server on port 25, no mail is ever going to get to you, since it will be blocked....

I've used a dynamic DNS service in the past, and that's what I was planning to use if I got the service from Verizon. I just wanted to make sure that it is legal to run a server with Verizon biz DSL...

Thanks for your reply, CXGJarrod. I called Verizon about it, and the guy said you don't need to purchase the static IP in order to run your own server, just that it makes it easier to run with the...
