maybe write a batch file that ipconfigs into a file and then emails the file SMTP style.

Could anyone recomend any freeware antivirus? Are there any that are worth a damn? Also is sygate considered a fairly decent firewall? Just the freeware personal edition.

Can you shut down into MS-DOS mode? Deleting important system files is NOT a good idea. Are you sure reinstalling windows doesn't help? Do you have a good AV installed?
