Mozilla blocks pop-ups. Outpost personal firewall automatically blocks ads from ad-servers. Just use these 2 which also happen to be a great browser and a great firewall!

Use Mozilla, it not only has a built-in pop-up blocker that actually works without breaking stuff, but also has an ad-blocker built in, and is faster than IE! Try it.
