I have a couple of hard drives, one 6Gb the other 15 Gb, 256Mb of 133mHz ram, a cdrom reader, a RivaTNT2 32Mb, and.... thats all, sound is motherboard resident, it came with the board...

The memory was tested, it's not the memory.
It should be the power supply, since I have no virus, and no trojan, the firewall does not refer to any incoming or outgoing transmition, the port dump...

Well, I believe it must be the power supply, I just ran a memory test for about 2 hours and the memory stood firm :)
So, I guess it must be the power supply.

Well, the power supply is aok, at least I think it is, no oscilations, fan speed on 4300 basis, and I have no idea what my AMD Tbird should use, maybe amd.com can tell me no? :)

My humble opinion the thing is, if you don't do any stunts with windows you won't need to mess with DOS or to boot from a disk.
I tried to substitute windows for Linux, I couldn't I kept running...
