    Question Help

    Hi all ,

Sorry if this is not the place to ask this type of question but im deperate. Can someone tell me where I can download a demo of easy cd creator or direct cd ?.I was given a copy of this program bundeled with my hp cd writer but for some reason no matter what I do the disc cant be read in either of my drives? ie the writer or the player.sometimes when I put the cd in the pc locks up? I dont understand as its a disc provided to me from Hewlet packard.I dont have the time to be writing to HP as Im in need right now and thats why im asking on here.

So if someone could tell me why my disc (that was read before) cannot be read now?.I recently reinstalled windows 98se could that be anything to do with it?.

Or if you know where I can get this program on the net I will be so thankfull to you.

my cd writer is HP 8200 EXTERNAL.

THANKS AGAIN FOR LISTENING TO ME

do any of your other CD's work? Also make sure that you have it all hooked up right in side the box.

If you simply need burning software, try nero, which you can get a demo of for free from

If it is an install problem with your burner drivers, or a hardware problem, that obviously wont help you much, but give it a shot.

    Question more help

Hi and thanks for your reply...

I was told that Nero is not compatiable with my HP 82OO writer? can you tell me if some cd writing software is only compatiable with certain writers?.

Also,to the in response to the 1st reply,Yes all my other cds are read with no problems. Its strange that only one disc (the HP writing software cd ) is the only one that cannot be read.

Also,Im really after the direct cd software so if anyone has a working link where I can get this I would be gratefull.

    thanks again for your replys

I had problems with that specific model of HP-CDRW. Nero worked for making Data CD's, but had buffer-underrun problems when used for making audio cd's. So Nero does work for data, and I used MusicMatch JukeBox (free version) to make my audio CD's.

If this is a relatively new burner, have you considered calling HP tech support and getting a replacement CD?
