need help here ppl
have an evaluation copy of pest patrol that shows i have brutusaet2/BrutusA2.exe(how it reads on log file anyway). evaluation copy shows it, but won't get rid of it for me. it's in my unzipped folder if that helps out. my AV(norton AV 2001)doesn't show it even being there. my full version trojan cleaner(what a joke) tauscan doesn't show it either. how the hell can i get rid of this? i have looked, done searches also. don't think i just asked this w/o trying it on my own first. this has really got me bugged(sorry). would appreciate any help anyone could offer up.

Brutus is a password craking program.......not really a virus, which is why norton won't pick it up. however a cunning cracker could have installed it on your computer, to crack shares passwords there quickly, so scan for trojans/virii on your computer and make sure your definition files are up to date.
To delete brutus, AFAIK, you merely click on it and press delete. (i think)
hope that this helps.
There\'s no sense in being Pessimistic...it would never work anyway.

appreciate your reply Therealmaster. the brutus file was dloaded by me. just a brute force p/w cracker. just kinda startled me when it showed up with the eval. version of pest patrol, but nowhere else(program wise). ran PP again this A.M., now it doesn't show. had already deleted the file(like you said). none of my other AV or trojan detectors picked it up. hmmm. thanks again for your input.
